Project Based Engineering Instrumentation High Level Coding and Microcontrollers

Section 23.7 Assignment

For this assignment you are to wire up the external pressure sensor and get data from it. You need to mount the CPX/CPB and the pressure sensor to some sort of hard surface so that when you move the CPX/CPB the pressure moves as well. In order to get the pressure to change significantly you’ll need to change your altitude by a lot. My recommendation is to ride the elevator of a tall building or drive up a really big hill. If you have the ability to do so, place the sensor in a rocket or an airplane!
  1. Title page with name,title and date - 5%
  2. Introduction with wiring diagram - 5%
  3. All figures must have appropriate annotations, figure captions, figure labels and a paragraph of supporting text - 10%
  4. Include a photo of your CPX/CPB mounted to a hard surface with the pressure sensor on a breadboard. - 10%
  5. Include a selfie of you right before you change altitude either by going up a big hill or by riding the elevator. Explain how you plan on changing altitude significantly in the supporting text. - 10%
  6. Include a screenshot (entire computer screen) of Mu showing the Plotter open showing pressure - 20%
  7. Plot pressure vs time for your experiment where pressure significantly changes. - 20%
  8. Convert pressure to altitude and plot altitude vs time for your experiment where altitude significantly changes. - 20%
  9. Appendix A - Video Details - Film yourself and your entire screen showing the pressure value in the serial Monitor in Mu. Also explain what you plan on doing to significantly change the altitude.- Pass/Fail
  10. Appendix B - Code used to take data and code used to plot in plain text (no screenshots) - Pass/Fail
  11. Appendix C - Screenshot of Excel or Sheets if applicable - Pass/Fail
  12. If you are asked to fix something in the Appendices such as missing content in your video or screenshots of your code, you will lose 10% of your grade everytime you submit an update after the deadline.
